If anyone is interested in an in-depth look at what we are really eating
and why, I highly recommend the book The Omnivore's Dilemma - A Natural
History of Four Meals by Michael Pollan.

Some topics covered in this book are:

Industrial Corn - scary how many corn and corn based foods we are
eating!
Pastoral Grass - this section deals with "local foods"
Industrial Organics - the industrial takeover of "organic foods"
Personal Forest - hunter/gardener/gatherer

Not sure if this book can be found at the local book stores; I am
currently reading a copy borrowed from the Annapolis Valley Regional
Library.

I also recommend Bitter Chocolate by Carol Off. All my Easter chocolate
will be purchased from Fair Trade sources after reading this book! This
is a thorough look at the chocolate industry.
