Apr. 2, 2007 - Ducks Unlimited pond along river and Middle Dyke Road, New Minas: 9 COMMON MERGANSERS (4m,5f); 1 m/f pr. of N. PINTAILS; 1 m MALLARD; 1 m RED-WINGED BLACKBIRD. Port Williams sewage ponds: about 10 MALLARDS. New Minas sewage ponds: 6 ICELAND GULLS (4 ad., 1 first-winter, 1 second-winter? (a lot of white and some gray on the mantle)(yes - Sibley shows this plumage under "2nd winter"). I heard one of our CARDINALS singing southeast of our back yard in Wolfville. Apr. 3, 2007 - 80 CANADA GEESE at Windsor sewage ponds. Apr. 4, 2007 - both m and f N. CARDINALS seen at our Wolfville feeders (what a treat every time we see them). The first C. GRACKLE (male) for our Wolfville yard showed up today. Jennifer Foster at Lower Blomidon (actually Hustonıs Beach) reports that ³TONS² OF ROBINS landed at her place today!!
