Weather may not feel like spring but the feeders are getting busy. The usual
chickadees. both nuthatches, goldfinches and purple finches, mourning doves,
a fox sparrow and Jays. Both common grackles and robins seen in the village
today.
One thing I had meant to mention in my Southern report is tame sandhill
cranes in Florida. For some reason they seem to get close to people very easily.
Where the Florida developments are spreading out to the savannahs they become
very tame. One of my friends has a pair that come to his back door and call
every morning to get fed. Not always a good thing because they tend to get hit
 by vehicles.
