Index of Subjects The last time I was in that area we drove our camper back to the dam that unites 6th and 5th lake into one, crossed the Sissaboo River below the dam, and drove about half the way up Sporting Lake stream before unloading our canoe. We discovered you could either go up SL Stream, or you could cross the stream and continue on and go up White Sands stream. The first time I was in that area we came in from Lake Jolly and stayed at Watson Peck's camp at White Sand Lake. We then came part way down the stream and went up through the Dish Lakes, and carried about two miles across to Sporting Lake. We met there what sounded like a mother bear and two cubs, but that is another story. My brother told me the logging companies were putting roads all through that country, and eventually wanted to get to the pine trees in the Sporting Lake area. Apparently they were stopped without getting that far.
