I dropped by Sullivan's after work yesterday (Monday) and found the gull =
numbers down a bit from the large influx on the weekend. Here's a photo =
from Monday of the lone Bonaparte's Gull standing to the left of a =
Black-headed Gull on the ice, followed by a Ring-billed/ Mew Gull =
comparison from Saturday (March 10th), and finally an Iceland Gull from =
Saturday as well, one of the more white individuals of the many that =
showed up, photo's 56 thru 58:

One thing I didn't capture on camera and wished that I had was some =
rather amusing crow behaviour. On Saturday in amongst the several =
hundred Gulls on the ice there was one lone American Crow strutting =
around like it owned the place, pecking at anything on the ice that =
resembled food. If a gull was standing in the way of a possible morsel, =
it would grap the extended wing feathers of the gull and pull it out of =
the way, and even if a gull would take offense to this it would mostly =
stand his ground defiantly. When I got poised to photograph this, it =
unfortunately wandered away from the gulls, and was driven out of the =
area by another crow.
