Dear All, Mar 4, 2007
On Dec 24 (yes, Dec 24) I checked the state of the 9 capsules; 6
hand-pollinated, 3 natural-pollinated; all capsules intact but one scape
bent over. Rather than take the record sheet in, I just copied the
numbers of the three natural-pollinated capsules and noticed a sequence
that had not been evident in a tabulation of 141 plants; 21, 42 and yes
indeed 84 !

Of course if we had three fingers and a thumb then these numbers
would be 25, 52 and 124 and one could marvel that they all add to 7.

I expect to go past the hand-pollinated ones within the next several
days and, based on other years, expect to find some seed still in the
capsules. If anyone is interested in scattering some seed in open
woodland then e-mail me and I will send some by snail mail.

Yt, Dave Webster, Kentville
