Hi All Yesterday evening at Western Shore there was a flock of about 60 ducks - half and half Mallards and Blacks with what looked like a Mallard X Pintail mixed in. The water is open right to the wharf but the coves are frozen - prehaps the reason this spot was picked for a wharf long ago. The ducks were feeding in the calm water near the shore - in about 1 meter of water. They were swimming back and forth with their lower bills in the water. Every once in a while they could be seen swallowing something - I couldn't tell what. Mostly this time of year, I thought they feed on periwinkles, mussels and other shelled thing but I doubt these thing would float but thats not impossible. The water is pretty dense just now. Anyone know what was for supper? Have a nice winter Paul ____________________________________________________________________________________ Cheap talk? Check out Yahoo!
