Here are two photos of the Harris Sparrow located at Lower LaHave. As
noted by Eric M., this is a winter-plumaged adult. What has struck me
about these <i>Zonotrichia </i>sparrows (White-crowned, White-throated,
etc.) is their perkiness and this individual displayed that perfectly.
Although the photos were taken through a window and at a distance so
they're not sharp, the bird is difficult to pick out against the
background. One of the photos illustrates that cryptic plumage well, an
excellent survival trait for a tundra nester.<br><br>
