For years we have the pheasants check under our feeders, a few times a day, but yesterday we saw a male sit on top of one of them, reaching, but not succeeding, for the food. Today he had figured it out and emptied the seed contents in no time. The feeder is an old fashioned house type. Now, when they stop making a lot of noise when they fly up, then they are getting really smart.......!
