Carol and I had a nice day birding in the Grand Pre and Port George areas yesterday, but still no alcids. Hopefully the Easterlies will bring in some tonight. We had two nice male Northern Harriers (Aylesford and Grand Pre). Grand Pre also yielded Horned Larks and Lapland Longspurs as well as a solitary American Pipit. The lady at the first set of feeders on the road in to Grand Pre said she has a pair of Northern Cardinals but we didn't see them. We saw three woodpeckers there (Hairy, Downy and N.Flicker). We didn't get any of the target birds on the Bay of Fundy (Harlequin Ducks, Red-throated Loon, alcids) but the regular scoters, grebes, etc. were there. Don Don MacNeill donmacneill@eastlink.ca
