I headed out to try for some of the birds that have been reported recently. I didn't find the towhees or dickcissel and Bissett Lake was completely frozen over (so no ruddy, pintail or redhead). However I did see: -A male Northern Cardinal at The Oaks on Robie St. -A pair of House Finches at the same place -3 Baltimore Orioles behind the last house on Robie St. -American Kestral, Bonaparte's and Black-headed Gulls at Rainbow Haven -Bufflehead at Tuft's Cove As well as all of the ordinary stuff. It was a great day for birding. Tomorrow is not looking good for the Lunenburg count though. Don Don MacNeill donmacneill@eastlink.ca
