Jan 1 / 06 - Wolfville Ridge

Looked out to our feeders this morning to see a Sharp-shinned Hawk sitting
on one of our bird feeders!

Other birds coming today:

Hairy Woodpecker - pair

Downy Woodpecker - pair (occasionally a second female turns up and is
tolerated by the first female)

Blue Jay 6

Dk-eyed Junco 8 (there were 12 last week)

A. Goldfinch 8

Wh-br. Nuthatch 1

Blk-cap Chickadee 12+

Crow 1- 7 (one regular, but occasionally it brings its
pals along!! They have discovered the tasty bits of suet dropping from the
suet feeders)

Two Brown Creepers were also seen today in a tree next to the house - they
seem to be hanging around our woods

as we see one sometimes checking out the mature trees around our feeding
station.

Happy New Year,

Judy Tufts
