Whoever is operating the webcam panned it over and focused it on the animals. Even with no animals present, there is a constant singing and calling of birds and animals in the background. It provides an exotic backdrop. Unlike watching animals on a TV show, you know you are seeing what they are doing right at the moment. It makes the viewing much more interesting and the anticipation of some animal coming in to the picture is quite exciting. My brother sent me a link to this South African water hole webcam . It's located in Kruger National Park in South Africa. There's an operator scanning the area and zooming in on things of interest. We've seen giraffes, baboons, an elephant, impalas, etc. Quite impressive! The best time to watch seems to be early in the morning, which is the afternoon at the camera site.
