Hello Birders,

Thanks to Ross and Linda, I was able to add this warbler to my N.S. list the afternoon of Sunday 5 November. It took a half-hour of searching and waiting, but once I found it actively foraging in the upper thirds of these tamaracks (Larix laricina), it was relatively easy to follow, as it was moving almost constantly, and was usually the only bird in the crowns of these trees (although a chickadee would occasionally get up there). It was not so easy to get a good look, although the major field marks could be seen well, but it appeared to me to be of the white-lored interior race Dendroica dominica albilora. It moved around these trees in the Halls' yard and the property behind it, and moved out into larch in the open lawn area to the east as well.

The only difficulty finding the site is that, as far as I could tell, there are no signs identifying Pictou Road; you will have to use a map or ask someone there!

On the way to Truro, I stopped at the Windsor sewage lagoons, where Richard Stern and I saw about 20 Black-bellied Plovers, 10 Dunlin, and an adult Lesser Black-backed Gull as well as the usual gulls and ducks.

Wayne Neily
Tremont, Nova Scotia

"Come forth into the light of things,
Let Nature be your teacher." - William Wordsworth, 1798.

I just spotted the warbler again down in a stand of tamaracks behind our property. Any who might be interested in taking their chances ( no guarantees though) are welcome to check it out. We are at 19 Clover Dr. in Bible Hill... just off Pictou Rd where there is an Esso station. Turn onto Armstrong Ave., then immediate left onto Clover Dr. We are a green house on the left, third one along.
