Hi everyone:

A friend of mine sent me a picture  the other day and said that I could =20=

let others see it if they were interested. Her daughter, Ivy Whitehorne =20=

graduated from Dalhousie University with an BSc in Marine Biology. She =20=

is now studying for an MSc in Behavioral Ecology=A0at Simon Fraser =20
University, and is working with a mixed population (resident and =20
migrant) of =A0American dippers in the Chilliwack River watershed in =20
southern B.C. The kingfisher was accidentally caught in a net intended =20=

for dippers. It was unharmed and immediately released but not before =20
there was a great picture opportunity.

The picture was taken with an 8 megapixel Canon Powershot Pro by one of =20=

Ivy's co-workers. The original image has her hand, arm, head  and more, =20=

  but I cropped it to keep the file size down.
