For those of you who are checking the movements of the satellite tracked =
greater shearwaters that were originally tagged in the Bay of Fundy, you =
may notice that three birds have appeared to fly inland. I believe =
these are errors in the tracking program that is used on the Seaturtle =
website. Not all satellite signals received are of high quality and can =
give errant locations. Usually these are filtered out but some may be =
missed. The next location of the supposedly errant birds is always back =
on the coast. =20

An interesting side bar is that one of the most southerly birds, Rosa, =
has flown from a summer feeding area of northern right whales - Bay of =
Fundy, to the calving area of southern right whales, Pennisula Valdez.

Nesting is supposed to begin mid-November with egg-laying about 20 Nov. =
on Tristan da Cunha so perhaps we will see some movements of the birds =
in that direction soon before the battery life of the tags is exhausted.
