Hi Bob,

It's actually only a new subspecies: Atlapetes latinuchus
yariguierum. The A. latinuchus complex has many subspecies: baroni,
caucae, chugurensis, comptus, elaeoprorus, latinuchus, simplex,
spodionotus, and the new yariguierum. There is quite a detailed
discussion of this species group ("Proposal (#222) to South American
Classification Committee: Split Atlapetes nigrifrons from A.
latinuchus") available at:

http://www.museum.lsu.edu/~Remsen/SACCprop222.html

Nonetheless, don't let any of this deter you: by all means foray to
Columbia! ;->

Cheers,

Chris
