Index of Subjects Hi Steve and others: The images of "Sericomyia chrysotoxoides" do look quite close to yours. I note the (hairy?) posterior band on yours (which appears to be a orange/yellow) is not on the "Bug Guide" images. What about the fuzzy/hairy ring just behind the eyes on yours...also not on the Bug Guide ones. Likely there is enough variability to account for those diffferences. I found a Hover Fly a few days ago in several locations that I have yet to identify on Bug Guide. Will keep searching....
