Yesterdays warm temperatures may have helped as we saw seven of our
chrysalises yield healthy Monarchs. Not all emerge healthy. We have had
several with distorted wings that never dry flat; they never fly and
just 'disappear'.

We actually had a caterpillar attach itself yesterday at this late date
and is now a green chrysalis.

Is there something we should be doing to 'feed' the butterflies before
they take off on their trip south? I tried setting out a pan of sugar
water with a landing cloth but they are not attracted to it. We have a
few flowers this time of year but not many.

The milk weed patches are now dying and shedding their seed.
