I spent the morning at Hartlen's Pt yesterday. There were 2 whimbrel on one of the fairways as I drove in. The Ring-necked Pheasants must have had a good year as I saw 8 young ones (3, 3 and 2). There weren't a lot of birds at Back Cove and Armed Forces personnel were tearing down their defunct power lines along the trail. I did manage to see some small flocks of warblers, but nothing exciting. It was our first of the year. Later on, on the golf course nearly every hole had a small flock of Whimbrel according to a group of golfers I spoke with. There were likely hundreds spread out over the 18 holes!
