Last evening at South Harbour Beach (N. Victoria Co.), there was one adult
and two juv. Piping Plover. I had walked by this area of the beach the
previous day but did not see them. However the beach was busier then.
The previous day there were about 35 terns on the inner sand bars and 20+
fishing over Aspy Bay. I only noted one juv. which was being fed. As usual
the majority are Commons with a few Arctics.
There was a scattering of Black-bellied Plovers, Willets, Greater
Yellowlegs, S/P Plovers and peeps. The pond is high (channel closed) so the
mud flats are covered.
