Hi, I too was at Grand Pre at high tide yesterday, but at the west end, close to ther Wolfville sewage plant. There were just a few peeps there, possibly because 2 Peregrines were patrolling the area. Today we checked out the east end, where all the fishermen are - there was a larger concentration of peeps, but this time we saw another Peregrine snatch one from the edge of the flock in flight, over the water - and carry it off towards Blomidon in its talons. There was also a single AM.PIPIT on the rocks at the end of the path by the parking area. ? early in the season for this fall migrant? Oddly, every time it flew a short distance between the rocks, it seemed to scare the nearby peeps, which took flight a little way.
