  2. BLANCHARD - Info on what happened to Benjamin Howes Calkin BLANCHARD, s/o H. Percy BLANCHARD, b. 16 Feb 1890, Baddeck, NS, who had enlisted in the First Contingent in the Great War and raised to rank of Corporal on the Field for Merit.   5. Looking for the parents of Pierre Blanchard (bca. 1755-1823), I believe born in Nova Scotia or the eastern sea board. Pierre married Martha Brock (1758-1848), the daughter of Ezekiel Brock and Elisabeth (?-?) in Providence, Rhode Island about 1782. Pierre served in Moses Hazen's 2nd Canadian regiment during the Revolution and recieved a track of land in Chazy, Clinton Co., New York.   10. BLANCHARD - Researching my great grandfather, Thomas L. Blanchard, born March 1842, who, according to the 1900 Tangipahoa parish census, was born in Canada, as were his parents, however not specific as to province. The family, including a brother, came to the U.S. in 1847. Thomas and his brother[?] came to New Orleans during the Civil War. Thomas L. got a marriage license in 1870 to marry Madeliene FALORSI. They married in St. Joseph Church in New Orleans, La. Their six children, Frank, Laura, Thomas, Sebastion [my grandfather], Philemon, and May were christened at St.Joseph's. William and his 3 brothers, one being Cornelius, known as NEIL, were raised at Port Mouton (Centre Point). Their residence at that time is now (1993) owned by BROOME family, which is near the Cosby fish plant about 5 mi. fr. beach at Port Mouton. William moved to Plympton area, Digby Co.
