The Cornish Society of Greter Milwakee
In 1994, The Cornish Society of Greater Milwaukee compiled a collection of
recipes called "Cornish Sweets". Cousin Jack Cookies, Saffron Cake, Cornish
Hevva Cake, Launceston Cake and Cornish Thimble Tarts have been generously
provided from that collection by Nadelek Lowen and Jean Joliffe.

We have been in existence since 1985, celebrating our 10th anniversary
all year long. Our society has a membership of about 140 and we meet
about 4 times/year: St. Piran's Day Tea, Pasty Luncheon in the Spring,
Harvest Picnic or banquet in fall and Christmas Party. We also have a
genealogy interest group which meets and a Cornish language interest group.
We participate in Celtic and Cornish festivals here in Wisconsin and we sell
a wonderful sweatshirt and t-shirt with a map of the world on the front and
the words "Kernow - Cornish settled around the world".
