In 1969, the Nova Scotia Rural Beautification Committee presented "Century Farm" plaques to farmers across the province whose farms had remained in the same family for the past one hundred years. Recipients provided genealogical/historical sketches of their family -- some much more detailed than others.

These sketches were published in Men of the soil: century farms. [Truro, N.S.]: The Committee, [1970]. This book is available in libraries across Nova Scotia (and elsewhere). I have compiled a summary of the entries relating to Cumberland County.

Please note that I am NOT actively researching any of these families or individuals, and so I am unable to do look-ups or provide any additional information on the persons listed here. There may be errors as this information is taken directly from published sources.
