An indication that this statement was misleading, in that
geophysical activity had not been discontinued at NSRFC, appeared in the Fall of 1992. Obvious competition
with private industry for geophysical contract work by NSRF appeared in 1994
when NSRF undertook an untendered contract
valued at $70000.00 let by the N.S. Department of Natural Resources. In
mid 1995, NSRFC continues to take an interest in acoustics for
environmental purposes (through affiliation with the Institute of
Acoustics of Atlantic Canada) - again a geophysical topic.
