Nathaniel:     When the "Atlantic"(SS Atlantic) hit the rock the Ryans were the first people there?

Dorothy:     Well they were living on that island at that time.

Barb:     They were your ancestors?

Margaret:     Yes

Nathaniel:     Your family was directly involved obviously then?

Margaret:     Yeah…my great grandfather and that

Barb:     Did you have stories of that passed down?

Margaret:     Well not really…well we heard that some of the people were taken to the house, where my great grand father lived, you know took them and feed them until what ever.

Barb     So when you were growing up what was the village like then?

Margaret:     Very few houses

Nat     You probably knew every one in the area?

Margaret:     Yes…well we're all related really. The Ryans, the Bropy's Norris', Blackburns' came later
