Submitted Nov. 14, 2015 - Ted Sutcliffe, whose Infomonkey website (see Aug. 29 listing below) is now kaput, bills himself as CEO and President of Sutcliffe Media in LinkedIn. Ted says he is an "Entrepreneurial executive with extensive media, management, and marketing experience seeks interested investors for version 2.0 of Infomonkey.net, a news and entertainment platform for journalists and entrepreneurs use in local markets." |
Submitted July 21, 2011 - I've tracked down my old C2 classmate Phil O'Hara to Dalhousie but he has ignored my e-mails. Oh well, maybe somebody who knows him better can give him a try. His e-mail is phil.ohara@dal.ca .

Submitted Feb. 8, 2010 - I found out that.Tom Fetterley is, indeed, living in PEI as evidenced by his curling in the PEI provincial playdowns. He curls out of The Silver Fox Curling Club in Summerside. Tom, at left, is shown here with his PEI team.

Submitted June 14, 2009 - Victor Goldberg was with us in grades 10 and 11 but jumped ship from there to go straight to Dalhousie. He is the founder of the Halifax law firm Goldberg Thompson (the same firm as Dave Green) and is married with two children.
|
Submitted Jan. 17, 2009 - Peter Greenwood has supplied the photo above of his twin sister Jane, and her husband, Bill Cooley. |
|
Green | Submitted Jan. 14, 2009 - Here's a photo from the web site at Dave Green's law firm (Goldberg Thompson in Halifax). His online bio says he "lives on a horse farm with his wife Julia, who is a veterinarian and owns Weste Animal Hospital Limited. His daughter, Nathalie, is a graduate of Bishop's University with a BBA, and son, Julian, is a fourth-year BA student at St. Mary's University."
Also found a photo of Les Grieve and Roy Gaetz. Les was sworn

Fetterly | in as a judge in the Alberta Provincial Court in Feb. 2008 after serving as a crown prosecutor. Roy is a corporate lawyer for Exxon in Irving, Texas. Les is in the centre of the front row while Roy is at the bottom right. The lawyer at the left of the bottom row is Peter Greenwood, who, as far as I know, still lives in the Halifax area. I couldn't find an e-mail address for Les but I did send a note to Roy. I'll let you know if I get anything back.
A few years ago I did a web site for the Nova Scotia Seniors Curling Championship. One of the competitors was classmate Tom Fetterly. Tom has been one of Nova Scotia's top curlers for many years. He has represented the province in the Brier five times and played on two Canadian Mixed Championship teams. Up until recently Tom was living in the New Glasgow area but I hear reports that he has moved to PEI. This photo is from 2005.
Submitted Feb. 10 - Our Class of 71 Head Boy Laurie Dunbar has emerged and sends this report: "Still alive and sort of kicking in Ottawa. Great to hear from you - although the pictures are scary. I'm not sure where too many of our classmates are - but I do know that Phil Bryden is the Dean of UNB Law School. I had dinner with him in Ottawa last year." I've sent an e-mail to Dean Bryden.

Garson | Submitted Nov. 12 - Our Class of 71 Head Girl Joan Garson is working for the Toronto law firm of Blaney McMurtry. I've sent her an e-mail but, so far, no response. Doug Stuewe would like information on some of his old basketball teammates such as Larry Langley, David Green, and Eddie Backman. Can anybody help him out? Also had a request for information on Jane Smith. We had two Jane Smiths that year and we'll take the lowdown on either of them. Tell us what you know.
Submitted Sept. 15 - Have managed to find Clary Ottman who is a VP for Canada Post. There was no e-mail address so I sent him a note through the corporate office. Knowing the agency's track record for delivering messages I have my doubts as to whether he'll receive it.
I was also doing some searching on the Classmates website which is pretty much useless. According to them Ellen MacNab is in (or near) Calgary. Her last name is Stewart. Nancy Orr is now Nancy Trudelle and she's in Chatham, Ontario.

Dunbar | Submitted Sept. 12 - I tracked down our Head Boy Laurie Dunbar to the law firm of Fasken Martineau in Ottawa. Laurie graduated from Dalhousie Law School in 1976 and was a Rhodes Scholar in 1978. I've sent him an e-mail.
I did receive an e-mail from Camber Muir who, as near as I can tell, messes around with nuclear power in Ontario. He's promised to send us his story when he gets a chance. Says Camber: "If/when I retire and move back to NS there will always be someone for you to toss the frisbee with on the beach. I often tell my kids stories about our trips to Lawrencetown beach, frisbee, and the stops at the DQ with the gang. I'll try to put together something about my family and what I've been doing for the last 35 years and send it along."
Camber is one of my all-time favourite QEHers. I remember our Hi-Y Club (Epsilon) being in a swim meet. One of the relay events required a variety of strokes. None of us wanted (or were able) to do them all so Camber dove in and swam the whole relay by himself. He's not the kind of a guy to let the side down.
Submitted Sept. 2 - Tireless Bryan Wood reports a Marty Townsend sighting and will follow up. He's hoping Marty can advise him as to brother Peter's whereabouts. Bryan says: "Pete was in our grade 10 class, flunked his first year of university and then got serious. He became a chemical engineer with brilliant marks and was in Montreal last I heard. Marty became a hospital administrator and married Cindy Rice who is from the class of '72."

Sutcliffe |
Submitted Aug. 29 - Ted Sutcliffe, who I think cut his journalistic teeth as editor of the QE school paper, is the operator of a website called Infomonkey.net. You can read about Ted and his travels by clicking here - link is now dead.
Submitted Aug. 16 - Bryan Wood spoke with Paula Grant and advises that David Green is a lawyer in Halifax. He also reports that Peter Ryan is a lawyer in Vancouver and Peter Townsend is a chemical engineer.
Submitted Aug. 15 - Bill Tucker is President of HMC Communications Inc. in Halifax. The company's website is here. Blair Mitchell, and Peter Greenwood we think are lawyers in the Halifax area. We've sent them e-mails but, as yet, no responses. Bryan Wood has heard that Chris Manning is a lawyer in the Valley and Bruce Murphy is a doctor in the same area. Bryan is also trying to get in touch with Phil O'Hara who works for Dal. Anybody got any others?
Submitted Aug. 4 - Steve Smith says that Rob Gordon is a computer programer in Halifax. Dennis Garrison is an accountant with the Nova Scotia government. Both stubbornly refuse to have their pictures taken for our web site.
