Index of Subjects Hi, Richard. That explains a lot. I'm not using a Mac, I'm on a laptop with Windows 10. I'm also not on Chebucto Plus, I just have a regular account (actually a family account with 4 family members). I can wait until the function is restored. I know that I've changed my password previously, so there had to have been a password reset function. It is a critical function for any email service provider, so there should be something on the sign in page that allows the user to change their password immediately. A lot of people are using email transfers these days, and if their password was compromised, payments could be intercepted by a hacker. So far I haven't had any indication that my password was compromised. I was on what turned out to be a fraudulent website, but when they asked for my password as part of the checkout process, I exited the site. Afterwards I wasn't sure how much information I had entered before I exited, but I'm pretty sure that I didn't enter my password. Here is the next answer: I meant literally on the Mac, not when accessing Chebucto via a Mac. In line of stuff with the Apple icon along the top of the screen, in the upper right corner, there is the date and time, then your name, then a magnifying glass. You can also get to it with Clover-Space. Sheila: If you are unable to use the magnifying glass, I can suggest that I log to the text service in as you and change your password. CCN frowns on this because I would have to have both your old and new password. No one at Chebucto is to know anyone's password for security purposes. Only the system is supposed to know what members' passwords are. However, if you are desperate, we could try this and when users are able to reset passwords themselves, you'd be able to change it. Another alternative is to have the CCN Office reset your password temporarlly until you are able to change it yourself. However, you'd still have to wait for the Office to reopen regarding Covid. > There should be a function on the sign in page to change your > password. It's just an FYI, not something to try yourself. That is a good question about what happened to the Password Change feature. Knowing how to get to it might be the missing piece rather than it disappearing. I just assumed that it was only available via the text interface, but if we know anyone who knows where it used to be then we can test it and make sure it still works or fix it. Clicking on the link for "Password Change" on plus.chebucto.net invokes a telnet connection to phoenix so all the password change mechanisms I know are via a text interface. The link to change password on https://www.chebucto.ns.ca/Help/Accounts/GoodPassword.html points to the lynxec command invoked in the text interface that will not work from an internet browser. Same situation for the links on https://www.chebucto.ns.ca/services.shtml Richard Bonner Chebucto User Help
