Hi Andrew,

First - thanks very much for the offer of help.  The next time you  
hear from me may be to set up a time.  I'm also checking out some  
other options ... it's not actually my account that's having the  
problem, I'm trying to help my wife (ak328) update all of her system  
files.  It's turned into a bigger job than I expected. It looks like  
the problem may be with her Outlook Express.

Also, thanks for the explanation on encrytion ... I assumed the answer  
you provided, but it's nice to have it confirmed.
