Why: MIC and the ELSS are hosting this night to raise awareness about the beauty and diversity of ocean life and the need for sustainable fisheries. What: Primary speaker: Susanna Fuller, a Ph D. candidate at Dalhousie University will be giving a presentation on her research to date on sponges in the Northwest Atlantic. Move over corals, here come the sponges. Sustainable Snack break: an array of delicious sustainable seafood 'goodies', as well as other delectable eats. Mark Butler and Lisa Asbreuk of the EAC will be presenting on Dragging and the Law: What Next? A group of students from Dalhousie University's "Nature Conservation" class will also be presenting information on sustainable seafood.
