The Marine Issues Committee (MIC) at the Ecology Action Centre and the
Environmental Law Student Society (ELSS) at Dalhousie University present the
following ocean evening:

Meet the Sponges...Before They're Gone

When and Where: Thursday March 10, 2005 from 7-9.30pm at the Weldon Law
Building, Dalhousie University in Room 105.

Why: MIC and the ELSS are hosting this night to raise awareness about the
beauty and diversity of ocean life and the need for sustainable fisheries.

What:

Primary speaker: Susanna Fuller, a Ph D. candidate at Dalhousie University
will be giving a presentation on her research to date on sponges in the
Northwest Atlantic. Move over corals, here come the sponges.

Sustainable Snack break: an array of delicious sustainable seafood
'goodies', as well as other delectable eats.

Mark Butler and Lisa Asbreuk of the EAC will be presenting on Dragging and
the
Law: What Next?

A group of students from Dalhousie University's "Nature Conservation" class
will also be presenting information on sustainable seafood.

This night is for anyone and everyone to enjoy, so please feel free to bring
family and friends.
