Community Environmental Education Workshop

Sydney: March 11, 2005

A FREE Workshop for Community Groups and Interested Individuals

What's this all about? The Community Environmental Education Workshop will
explore elements of Environmental Education and demonstrate how groups can
use Environmental Education to make positive changes in their communities.

This FREE one  day workshop is hosted by:
The Nova Scotia Environmental Network - Environmental Education Caucus
(NSEN - EEC). Members and partners include:
The Ecology Action Centre ~ Clean Nova Scotia ~ Tree Canada ~ the Canadian
Environmental Literacy Project (CELP) ~ the Sierra Club of Canada - Nova
Scotia Chapter ~ Environment Canada ~ the Nova Scotia Department of
Environment and Labour ~ Parks Canada ~ the Canadian Parks and Wilderness
Society (CPAWS) - Nova Scotia Chapter ~ the Halifax Regional Municipality's
Adventure Earth Centre ~ Resource Recovery Fund Board (RRFB) ~ Heartwood
Centre for Community and Youth Development ~ the Otesha Project ~ Scientists
and Innovators in the Schools (SITS).

Participants will:
. learn the principles of Environmental Education;
. learn characteristics of good Environmental Education programming;
. learn how they can implement Environmental Education in their organization
and community;
. meet and network with other organizations in their community;
. collect information and materials on Environmental Education from other
groups in Nova Scotia.

Yarmouth: Izaak Walton Killam Memorial Library, 405 Main Street
Truro: Colchester-East Hants Regional Library -Truro Branch, 754 Prince St.
Sydney: James McConnell Memorial Library, 50 Falmouth St.

Registration:
Registration is on a first come, first served basis. The deadline for
registration is February 28, 2005.  Lunch and Refreshments will be provided.
Reimbursement for childcare is available (with receipt).
