I know many of you are thinking of coming, but I am trying to come up with an attendance list and the list is a bit short. Please help me make it longer - I will be so grateful if you would confirm your presence, so I can make sure there is plenty of yummy food for you! PRESS REPLY NOW, I'll feel good, you'll feel good, it will be groovy. Read on to learn more about what you've signed on for. Our keynote speakers include the fabulous Elizabeth May - if you haven't heard her speak, don't miss out and if you have, well, I don't need to tell you how great she is. Joining her will be noted hog-farm campaigner Denis Belliveau, who will be adding to our hope of bilingualism by speaking in French. The theme of this year's gathering is Energy (Positive Energy!) and we will be including this theme in our workshops on energy policy, education, and agriculture. The highlight may be a visit from the Climate Change Bus - not to be missed! Energy not your thing? Well, that is okay, because we also have workshops planned on crown lands, healthy communities (also titled how to get your government to listen to you), and green campuses. We have the media relations guru Pat Kipping coming to teach us all how to get more attention from the press, and the pesticide bylaw queen Helen Jones to teach us how to convince our communities to follow the lead of Halifax. We will be at a great venue - the United Church, in the heart of Sackville - and the minister of the church has invited all participants to join in the specially prepared Sunday sermon on Eco-theology. And that is not all - we will have drama, dancing, field trips, lots of discussion and hopefully some action plans coming out of this weekend. We hope you will come - food is included in the registration cost (only $35 for members, $45 for non-members) and we can arrange billeting or camping at no charge. Registration starts at 6pm on Friday night, just before the keynote speakers. Workshops will be all day Saturday and until about noon on Sunday, followed by a field trip. Child care will be provided - bring the whole family! All I ask is that you please let me know you are coming, so we can make sure we are prepared! Drop me a line, See you soon!
