In order to bring conservation issues to the fore in the election, the NS chapter of the Canadian Parks & Wilderness Society (CPAWS-NS) has assigned one or more "species in trouble" to each electoral riding. Candidates for election have been informed of the list. CPAWS-NS is now looking for people who will start asking the candidates: "If you get elected, what will you do to make sure the [riding species] is secure?" "If your party forms the government, what will you do to protect all of the province's biodiversity?" [as illustrated by the whole list of species]. The species list, with additional notes, as well as the letter to electoral candidates can be found at: http://www.cpawsns.org/campaigns_projects/index.html If you would like to be a riding contact person, please email: willison@dal.ca Martin Willison CPAWS-NS -*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*- NO SOLUTION TO E.
