A message from Martin Willison <willison@dal.ca> to Sustainable Maritimes (sust-mar) subscribers. From: Sarah Brierley <sarah@evergreen.ca> Hello, I am searching for sources of enviro-community events in Halifax for April/May, such as tree plantings, invasive species culling, community clean-ups, nature walks. The aim is to do a national web posting of these events, to bring together volunteers (members of the public) and events, to give people a "hands-on" experience. Do you know of any such events this spring? Can you suggest any Halifax environmental/community groups which organize such events? I'd be most grateful for any suggestions, as I have a deadline of Fri. April 4 on this! To give you a bit of background on Evergreen, Canada's national, not-for-profit urban environmental group: Evergreenšs mission is to bring communities and nature together for the benefit of both. We engage people in creating and sustaining healthy, dynamic outdoor spaces - in our schools, our communities and our homes. We believe that local stewardship creates vibrant neighbourhoods, a healthy natural environment and a sustainable society for all. Thank you very much! Please feel free to pass this on to any organizations that might have listings they'd like to send me.
