The Atlantic Canadian Organic Regional Network (ACORN) is seeking a conference coordinator for the ACORN Organic Conference and Trade Show to be held in Nova Scotia in spring 2003. This is the third ACORN regional conference. The conference coordinator should have experience organizing large events, coordinating volunteers and a media campaign, and working with non-profits. Computer literacy and grant application skills will be required. The conference coordinator would work from their home anywhere in the Maritimes, using their own computer and fax. A flexible schedule will be based on a monthly action plan. The conference coordinator reports to ACORN's conference committee by monthly update and in person meetings and conference calls. The coordinator would work closely with ACORN's Director of Administration. A complete job description will be completed with the successful applicant based on experience and skill base. The position would begin September 15th 2002 and finish April 15th 2003. The majority of the work would occur between November and March. Total salary is $7500, paid monthly, in addition to mileage and phone expenses. Deadline for applications is AUGUST 9th, 2002.
