Hello! I am working for the Ecology Action Centre to organize a Vehicle Emissions Inspection Clinic for the Halifax Area on May 22, 23 and 24. We require volunteer staffing of this event. I would appreciate you circulating the following information to members of your organization. Those who are interested in participating may contact me by phone (please leave a message) or email. Thanks for considering this request! Kate Thompson Coordinator Halifax Vehicle Emissions Inspection Clinic katethompson@hfx.eastlink.ca (902) 861-3953 Call for Volunteers to Assist with Vehicle Emissions Inspection Clinic On May 22, 23 and 24 the Ecology Action Center and Environment Canada will be running a "no fees, no fines" Vehicle Emissions Clinic in the parking lot of Kent Building Supplies in Bayer's Lake Business Park. The primary purpose of the clinic is to promote awareness among the public about the negative health and environmental effects of vehicle emissions and to provide information on how they can, through proper maintenance and driving practices, help to reduce these emissions. Although exhaust emissions tests are handled by Environment Canada staff, volunteers are required to carry out other duties, such as greeting motorists, measuring gas cap seals and tire pressure and passing out literature. We need volunteers sixteen years or older for shifts between 10:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Shift lengths and times will be arranged with volunteers. All volunteers will receive a T-shirt to keep which they wear during the clinic. Refreshments will be provided. If you are interested in helping, please contact Kate Thompson at (902) 861-3953 or by email at katethompson@hfx.eastlink.ca -*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*- SUST-MAR is provided FREE by the Chebucto Community Net and YOU!
