Subject: Missing Good Movies? Have you missed the chance to see first-run alternative, independent, and foreign films on the big screen? So have the founders of the non-profit Paradise Sisters Film Society: It's time to bring repertory cinema back to Halifax! The Paradise Sisters Film Society has already been greeted by a very enthusiastic community response, and volunteers are now working to transform a terrific downtown venue into an earthly haven for film lovers. Our goal is to open The Paradise Cinema, a comfortable, accessible theatre running great films seven days a week. It will house quality sound and projection, a concession stand full of tasty treats, and up to 120 happy moviegoers per screening. Within walking distance of some of Halifax's most popular restaurants, clubs, hotels, and shops, The Paradise Cinema will become a valuable addition to the city's cultural center. We're shooting for a September, 2002 opening. To make this happen, we need your support. By providing Corporate Sponsorship or becoming a Founding Member for $100, you will become instrumental in making The Paradise Cinema a reality. Or, if you want to become a future member, email us, (address below) and we'll put you on our contact list. Screening the diversity of today, and supporting the art of tomorrow The thriving artistic and filmmaking community of Nova Scotia has a great new partner in the Paradise Sisters Film Society! Besides showing great movies, The Paradise Cinema will be a resource for film-related educational and community pursuits: a venue for film festivals, local film studies programs, private or premiere screenings, corporate functions, fundraisers, and cultural events. If your organization would like to help realize this goal, you can show your support by contacting us to discuss rental options. ___ Founding Member Form -- Print & Mail in________________ Name: Phone: Address: E-Mail: _______________________________________________________ If you want to be on our list as a Future Member, or if you have any questions, you can email your info to: paradise.sisters@ns.sympatico.ca But - we really need you to help make repertory cinema happen in Nova Scotia by becoming a Founding Member!
