Hello all Piping Plover lovers: Piping Plovers have arrived on the beaches and need our help! WE CAN ALL HELP PROTECT PIPING PLOVERS - AN ENDANGERED SPECIES! Nova Scotians are encouraged to share the beach by giving Piping Plovers room to raise their chicks. During the breeding season - from approximately May to August - volunteer guardians spend time at the posted boundaries to enhance public awareness of the plover's plight, encourage the public to please keep their pets on leashes and to avoid posted areas, or simply report a sighting.
