Sunship Earth Environmental Adventure Camp for Young People Sunship Earth is an exciting, environmental adventure experience for young people ages 10-12. It is a weeklong sleepover camp run this summer by the Halifax Regional Adventure Earth Centre on a beautiful lake in the Windsor area. It is outdoor adventure and fun, with a focused purpose - to help young people develop a strong positive relationship to the natural world and understand the basic ecological operating principles of the planet. Their waking hours are spent engaged in a non-stop series of outdoor activities - from stalking mice as a coyote to sneaking into a giant leaf as a spy to learn the secret of photosynthesis. The final stage challenges them to examine the environmental impact of their own habits, and make a commitment to change something to help the earth. There are also traditional fun camp activities like swimming, canoeing, and campfires every day. Sunship Earth runs July 21-26, and July 28-August 2, 2002. Want to know more?
