Press Release Big Bill Morganfield brings the blues to Carleton County! It is the dream of many fathers for their sons to follow in their footsteps. If McKinley Morganfield, better known as the blues giant Muddy Waters, were alive today, he would be very proud of his son Big Bill Morganfield. Possessing more than just his musical pedigree, Big Bill has the voice, song writing skills and stage presence to become a major talent in his own right. Born in Chicago in 1956, Big Bill was raised by his grandmother in southern Florida and now resides in the Atlanta area. His father's blues legacy lives on in the tools of his art. Big Bill has both Muddy's touring amp and the guitars on which he composed some of his earliest works. Most importantly, Bill carries Muddy's spirit and love for the blues, and says he feels a spiritual bond with his father when he's on stage. Big Bill's renown continues to increase with performances at festivals and other venues in the United States, Canada, and Europe. Last year in Washington D.C., Big Bill was a featured artist in a Kennedy Center "Tribute to Muddy Waters" and mesmerized the audience with a spine tingling performance. The Carleton Victoria Arts Council is thrilled to present Big Bill Morganfield in concert at Carleton North High School, in Bristol. The show starts at 8:00 pm and doors open at 7:30 pm, Saturday, April 20, 2002. Tickets are $12 for adults, with discounts for seniors and students. Advance tickets are available from The Owl Book Place in Woodstock, the Andrew and Laura McCain Library in Florenceville, and Nissen's Market in Perth Andover. Please phone Peter, at 278-5154, or Sarah, at 375-4795, for more information. -*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*- SUST-MAR is provided FREE by the Chebucto Community Net and YOU!
