Camp Director
NBFN Summer Youth Nature Camp

Hourly Wage: $16/hr
Job Start/End Dates: April 29th  - September 2002
Cut-off date for resumes:  April 5th

The New Brunswick Federation of Naturalists (NBFN) Camp Director's primary
responsibility is running a summer youth nature camp at three locations in
the province of New Brunswick.  The director is responsible for camp
publicity and advertising, coordinating camp programs and staff, end of
season evaluations, and fundraising.  The Summer Youth Nature Camps will
take place at the Huntsman Marine Science Centre, Saint Andrews, Camp
Richelieu, Tracadie and Le fôret experimentale, Edmundston.

The camp director will be the leading NBFN advocate for nature education of
children.  The director will be supervised by the NBFN Program Coordinator
and Summer Camp Committee.  There is a possibility that this position will
be extended beyond September.

Qualifications:

· Preference to candidates with supervisory and/or administrative experience
in residential outdoor education
· Experience working with children
· Experience in wildlife biology and/or environmental sciences
· Background in education
· Excellent public communication skills, both written and verbal
· Fluency in French and English
· CPR and First Aid Certification required, and criminal record check for
selected candidate
· Ability to communicate with parents, staff, volunteers and media
· Proficient with MS Word; willing to become expert with Simply Accounting
and Excel
· Familiar with standard office equipment including computers, copiers, and
fax.
· Capable, dependable, independent, and flexible
· Class 4 driver's license is an asset
· Access to own computer is an asset
· Nature interpretation skills an asset

Camps d'été Jeunesse Nature de la FNNB

Salaire : 16$ / heure
Début/fin du travail : 29 avril- septembre 2002

La responsabilité première du directeur de camps d'été Jeunesse Nature de la
Fédération des Naturalistes du Nouveau-Brunswick est d'administrer des camps
dans 3 différentes régions de la province. Le (La) directeur sera
responsable de la publicité, des programmes, du personnel des camps et à la
fin de la saison de l'évaluation du programme ainsi que des levées de fond.
Les camps ont lieu à Saint Andrews au Hunstman Marine Science Centre, à
Tracadie au Camp Richelieu, et à Edmundston à La forêt expérimentale.

Le (La) directeur des camps sera le (la) porte-parole de la philosophie de
la Fédération des Naturalistes du N.-B. auprès des jeunes et du personnel.
Il (Elle) sera supervisé  par la coordinatrice de Projets de la FNNB et le
comité des Camps. Il y a une possibilité d'extension du contrat de travail
au-delà de septembre.

Qualifications:

. Expérience de supervision/ou expérience administrative dans des camps
. Expérience de travail avec les jeunes
. Connaissance en biologie de la nature/ou en sciences environnementales
. Expérience en éducation
. Bilingue
. RCP et certificat de premier soin sont requis et vérification du dossier
criminel si votre   candidature est retenue.
. Facilité de communication avec le public, les parents et les jeunes
. Habilité avec MSWord et le désir d'apprendre Simply Accounting et Excel
. Familier avec un ordinateur, le télécopieur et la photocopieuse
. Indépendant, créatif, fléxible
. Permis de conduire classe 4 est un atout
. Propriétaire d'un ordinateur est un atout
. Interprête de la nature est un atout
