Dear ACIC Members, I would like to invite you and your organization to attend the Atlantic Council for International Cooperation's Annual General Meeting on Saturday, March 9 and Sunday, March 10, 2002. This year's AGM will be held at the Mayfield Quality Inn in Mayfield, PEI. Blaine Merchand, Director of NGO Project Facility – CIDA; Jan Barnabé, Senior Program Manager, NGO Project Facility – CIDA; and, Ralph Roberts, Director Atlantic Region Canadian Partnership Branch, will attend the Annual General Meeting. AGENDA Friday, March 8, 2002, 12:00 pm - 8:00 pm Field Trip: Tour of the Atlantic Wind Test Site (Please see attached information below.) Saturday, March 9, 2002 Morning: Professional Development Workshop - Building Consortiums and Strategic Alliances Among and Between Non-profit Organizations and Other Partners Afternoon: Strategic Planning Preparation Session for the Atlantic Council for International Cooperation (ACIC). Come work with other members of ACIC, at a visioning session to lay the groundwork for the development of ACIC's Three-Year Strategic Plan. Evening: A Saturday night social with local musicians will be available for a nominal fee. Sunday, March 10, 2002 Items of business to be transacted at the Annual General Meeting will include: * Presentation from Blaine Merchand, Director of NGO Project Facility – CIDA * Report from the Chair * Report from the Coordinator * Amendments to By-Laws * Resolutions * Questions of Membership * Election of Representatives to the Board * Minutes of the last Annual General Meeting * Annual Report of the Board * Financial Statement and Auditor’s Report for the 2000 Fiscal Year * Appointment of Auditors for next year Bursaries: ACIC will cover the cost of accommodations for 2 nights, double occupancy, and 5 meals (three meals on Saturday and breakfast and lunch on Sunday) for 1 representative from each member organization in good standing. The cost for each additional participant is $125 for 2 nights, double occupancy, and 5 meals. Where : North Cape, PEI Date : March 8th, 2002 Time : 12 pm to 8pm, with the tour at 3 pm and supper at 5 pm. The site is a 2-hour drive from the Mayfield Quality Inn. We will meet at the Mayfield Quality Inn (site of ACIC’s 2002 AGM) and carpool to Tignish. ACIC will cover the cost of mileage. At the site we will be given a tour of the wind test site (dress warm!) and will visit the interpretive centre. After the visit we will be having supper in the picturesque village of Tignish. The Atlantic Wind Test Site Inc. (AWTS) is Canada's facility for the testing and development of wind energy technology. Located at North Cape, the northernmost tip of Prince Edward Island, the facility has been a key participant in the Canadian wind energy program since 1980. Jointly funded by Natural Resources Canada and the Province of Prince Edward Island, AWTS has evolved to meet the changing needs of the national wind energy program. Currently, projects are selected with emphasis is on economic viability, and most of today's projects concern wind energy applications that have near term commercial potential.
