November 22, 2001 TRANSPORTATION DEMAND MANAGEMENT (TDM) COORDINATOR CONSULTING SERVICES CONTRACT (6 month minimum) Joint Initiative - HRM (Public Works & Transporatation) and the Ecology Action Centre's TRAX Program An individual is required with experience in the field of transportation planning to undertake a broad range of Transportation Demand Management (TDM) initiatives with a focus on bicycle and pedestrian issues. This project will last for a minimum of six months and is co-funded by HRM and the TRAX Project of the Ecology Action Centre. Reporting to the Manager, Traffic and Transportation Services and periodically to the TRAX Project of the Ecology Action Centre on a contract basis, the individual will perform tasks related to the planning, development, monitoring and assessment of the region's policies and activities related to TDM. SPECIFICATIONS a minimum of two years experience in the field of transportation planning; a university degree in a related field, e.g. Urban Planning, Urban Geography, Environmental Studies or Civil Engineering may be considered in lieu of job-related experience; experience in TDM and cyclist/pedestrian issues; training in traffic analysis or land development is desirable; demonstrated computer experience.
