WORKSHOP
********************************
Environmental Law
What Do Citizens Need to Know?
********************************
With Lisa J. Mitchell

Sunday, December 2, 2001
8:30 am - 4:00 pm
Nurses Association of New Brunswick,
165 Regent Street
Fredericton, N.B.

What environmental laws can help you in your work?
When is a legal resolution beyond reach?

As citizens concerned about environmental and health issues, it
is necessary to understand Canadian and New Brunswick
environmental law. Laws can be powerful tools and bring
quick action in addressing issues. Other times laws can form the
basis of a strong campaign. Finally, to realize the society we
envision, it is necessary to understand our present laws and be
able to speak to changes we would like to advance.
To add a solid background in environmental law to your treasure
chest of activist tools, join us for this workshop.

 On the Agenda:

* Environmental Issues and Environmental Law
*  Jurisdictional Issues
*  Federal Environmental Legislation
*  Provincial Environmental Legislation
*  Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)
*  Regulatory Offenses and Defenses
*  Common Law Civil Actions
      --- complete agenda available on the NBEN website
