This weekend over thirty people came out to Seymour Green to help build a straw bale shed for the community garden. Each donated an average of 4-5 hours of work each. It was great fun mixing the clay and playing with the straw. Straw bale building is very labour intensive though and we are not done yet. More volunteers are needed through this week to mix the clay and sand (cobb) and there are more work parties scheduled for 5:30pm on THursday and Noon on Sunday to finish it off. If you are able to spare an hour or two during the week to prepare the clay for the work parties please contact Janet or Ben at the PIRG office (494-6662) or please come out and check out the action on Thursday and/or Sunday. A great big thanks to all who helped out this weekend, we're almost finished....!!!
