Please post _____________ Dear Sustainable Maritimes Community: Wondering how to maintain or decrease your waste management costs while increasing cost-effective diversion and resource efficiency? I write to invite you to an information session on an innovative concept that seeks to institutionalize cost-effective recycling improvement and source reduction in a diversity of organizations. I am a recent graduate of Dalhousie's School for Resource and Environmental Studies, and have been working at the Tellus Institute (Boston) on several pilot projects researching how to restructure waste hauling/disposal and recycling contracts with partners such as General Motors, Texas Instruments, Harvard University, and various municipalities for increased diversion. The results of these projects demonstrate both potential and realized improvements in cost-effective resource efficiency. While back in Halifax for my graduation next week, I hope to hold an information/discussion session. Please find included an outline of the Resource Management concept and overview of the session to be held at Dalhousie's School for Resource and Environmental Studies (scheduled for Friday May 25, 9:30-11:30AM). Please give me a call at (617) 266-5400 or e-mail gmarett@tellus.org to indicate whether you are able to attend. Please feel free to circulate to colleagues in the solid waste management, environmental management, or purchasing fields who you feel may be interested. For more information, click on "Resource Management" at http://www.tellus.org/b&s/index.html.
