Are there alternatives to the province's so-called "energy strategy"? The 1993 report "A Clean Energy Policy for Nova Scotia" describes how CHP [combined heat and power] plants using the province's wood waste could replace oil for the generation of electricity and heat. The report was originally presented in November 1993 to the IEE Conference on Renewable Energy, Clean Power 2001, held in London, England. In January 1995, the paper was submitted to the Electricity Review Panel Hearings (Nova Scotia Department of Natural Resources), held in Halifax. Copies of the report can be found at: http://www.dal.ca/~lhughes2/environment/clean93.html Comments or questions regarding this paper can be directed to Larry Hughes [larry.hughes@dal.ca].
