Index of Subjects Greetings friends, As you may be aware, over the past year a group of students at Mount Allison have been working on a Sustainable Residence Initiative. Last year, we wrote a discussion document; met with key administrators, professors, and others; informed students and received letters of support; and ended the spring semester with a formal presentation to administrators. Encouraged by them to continue the initiative, we have gathered together representatives of Facilities Management, the Student’s Administrative Council, faculty, and staff to work along with us. Now, we are planning a Sustainable Building Seminar to be held on March 9 and 10. The main objective of the seminar is to receive the input of green building experts and to use their input to strengthen our conceptual plan. We will be fortunate enough to receive the pro bono expertise of prominent green building specialists from across North America. As the agenda below describes, on March 10 green building experts will meet with a representative group of students, faculty, staff, administrators and other community members in two intensive workshop sessions. These workshops will give participants the chance to discuss key issues related to the project such as benchmarks, education & green design and waste systems. This seminar provides an exciting opportunity for members of the Mount Allison and Sackville community to interact with innovative leaders in this field. Your name has been suggested to our group as someone potentially interested in this seminar. We are in the process of finalizing numbers for this event . Space is limited so please let us know as soon as possible if you would be interested in attending. Below is a list of expert participants and a tentative agenda. Thank you for your attention. We look forward to hearing from you soon!
