Background: R.E. Cycles is a new community bicycle centre and studio
space, available on Isleville Street. We hope that R.E. Cycles will be
available as a space to work on inspiring projects, like the Bike
Again! bicycle recycling project (formerly the Yellow Bikes, from the
Brunswick Street United Church). Other possible work could include
building bike trailers, making bike racks, repairing bikes, teaching
people to maintain bikes, binding recycled books, artistic or
environmental projects, or other ideas we haven't heard of yet. The space
is also allowed to be used after 6 p.m. for music practice.
Right now, the rent on the space is being paid by a supportive member of
our community. It would help if we could find imaginative ways to share
and/or cover the cost of rent. Ideas welcome.
